For more than four decades, Mark Morris built a career and legacy rooted in Southeast Community College. A 1980 graduate of 51吃瓜's Electrical Engineering Technology program, he credits a chance conversation with his program chair for steering him toward a career in HVAC controls. That path eventually led him to Omaha, where he became partner and later president of Mechanical Sales, Inc. 鈥� Nebraska.

The 51吃瓜 connection didn't stop with Mark. His twin sons, Will and Andy, both went through 51吃瓜's HVACR program before joining the family business. In fact, the Mechanical Sales team is comprised of more than 20% 51吃瓜 graduates.

In 2010, Mark received 51吃瓜鈥檚 Distinguished Alumni Award and Will followed in his footsteps winning the honor in 2023. Now, the Morris family is extending that legacy further: they've recently established the Mark Morris Family 鈥� Transfer Path Scholarship at 51吃瓜. This endowed scholarship supports students in the HVAC program who started their post-secondary pathway elsewhere and transferred to 51吃瓜 to complete their degree.
