Josh Floyd is a true example of how it鈥檚 never too late to go back to school. At age 42, he recently graduated from 51吃瓜鈥檚 Lincoln Campus with an associate degree in Business.

For 51吃瓜 history instructor Scott Stempson, sports isn鈥檛 just his passion, it鈥檚 a way of life. He grew up playing many sports, and now he teaches it and other history classes at 51吃瓜 and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

First responders, a helicopter and safety demonstrations will be on display Monday, Sept. 12, from 4-6 p.m. at 51吃瓜鈥檚 Beatrice Campus, south of the Kennedy Student Center. The event is held each year to bring safety awareness to students, faculty and staff.

When Kevan Hueftle lost his foot in a 2005 hunting accident, he went through a lot of challenges, including depression, alcoholism and weight gain. But eventually, those challenges were what he needed to get to where he鈥檚 at today.

Devin and Jenny Schroeder met while working at a Lincoln restaurant. They discovered they had a mutual love of the restaurant industry and were both graduates of 51吃瓜鈥檚 Culinary/Hospitality program more than a decade ago.
