Victoria Northrop is the new coordinator for 51吃瓜鈥檚 Learning Center at York. Northrop earned her bachelor鈥檚 degree in Education from the University of Nebraska at Kearney, and two master鈥檚 degrees from Doane University.

The 51吃瓜 Board of Governors has a vacancy after the Rev. Edward Price resigned for health reasons.

Registration is now open for the first Nebraska Advanced Nuclear Forum which will be held Thursday, Oct. 21 at 51吃瓜鈥檚 Jack J. Huck Continuing Education Center, 301 S. 68th St. Place, Lincoln.

Gov. Pete Ricketts recently proclaimed the month of July as 鈥淰ictims of Communism Remembrance Month鈥� in Nebraska. He held a ceremony with Nebraskans who lived through communist oppression, including 51吃瓜 instructor, Dr. Elina Newman.

Michelle Birkel of Lincoln has been named the new executive director of 51吃瓜鈥檚 Educational Foundation. Birkel replaces Dr. Jack Huck, who spent seven years in the same role and is now serving as president of the Foundation Board.
